Paul’s Baseball Blog is authored by Paul Silvestri, and was started on August 30, 2008. Currently, comments are enabled on this blog to further discussion of the league, teams, players, management, and other aspects of the game. Although this site sometimes functions as a message board, it is not a message board.
That said, comments are what makes blogs such GREAT places! Therefore, I’m implementing a few guidelines that come along with a blog. I want this to be a great place, but to do that, there has to be some rules in effect.
Last Updated: August 30, 2008
- Please DO NOT attack one another! Yes, debate is good, but if you want to attack something, attack the position a certain player is playing (aka Brandon Inge behind the plate and not a 3rd Base).
- I reserve the right to delete a comment at anytime. Most of the time, if I think a comment contributes to the discussion, I will let it go. But, if I see something that is disputable, I will delete it.
- Be sure your comments advance the discussion in some way. Saying the same thing over and over again isn’t civil discourse, and it isn’t welcome here. (That kind of fits in with #2)
- I reserve the right to ban an individual at any time. Banning of an individual is for a 1-month period, and then the individual can be allowed back. However, once an individual is banned a second time, they will not be allowed back. If you feel that you have been banned inappropriately, then please email me; and I will reinstate you. However, when you comment, if you use a real email address, the spam filter is most likely to let you pass through (hint, hint).
- Please DO NOT use Profanity! I would like this to be a “fan-friendly” place, even for children. Swearing/Profanity does not offend me, but please try to express yourself some other way.
- Please do not come on here and pretend to be a player, manager, coach, or executive from any team. 99.9% of the time, people from MLB teams do not visit the blogs of their own teams. If this happens, that person will face a ban unless they can prove (via email) they are who they say they are.
- When posting something on here, please respect the copyright laws. 90% of the time when I post something, I will credit the source where I got the information from (newspapers, websites, etc). Please don’t reproduce entire articles (or even large chunks) in the comments. When in doubt, just link to the source and let folks check it out for themselves.
- I reserve the right to change this policy at any time!
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me!
