Instant Replay Use Last Night

Well, Instant Replay made its debut in the NY Yankees/Tampa Bay game last night.  In the 9th Inning, Alex Rodriguez hit a towering Home Run, that appeared to hook around the left-field foulpole and hit the bottom of the catwalk that runs from left to center field.

In my opinion, the home run looked fair, but I did not have a good camera angle on the play.  I give the umpires credit for getting into the tunnel, looking at the replays, and making the right call.  The process altogether took 2 minutes and 15 seconds, which was actually faster than the test run they did a week or so ago that lasted 7 1/2 minutes.

Anyway, I’m hoping that Instant Replay gets used for often in games, especially where the game matters for one team or another and the results depend on a playoff spot.  Good Job MLB (especially Bud Selig) for installing MLB at all ballparks!
